Thursday February 19, 2026, the Nebraska Kurdish community had the honor of meeting with the office of Senator Pete Ricketts to discuss the urgent situation in Rojava (Northeast Syria). We requested strong support for the proposed Save the Kurds Act introduced by Senator Lindsey Graham and emphasized the importance of continued U.S. support for our Kurdish allies. We also raised serious concerns about the situation in Kobani, which has faced threats, sieges, and attacks from Jolani’s militias. We respectfully urged continued American leadership to protect civilians, preserve stability, and stand with the Kurdish people who have been key partners in the fight against ISIS.
