Little Things About KAG
Kurdish American Group is a non-political, non-profit, cultural, and educational based organization. The intention of the Kurdish American Group shall be to rejuvenate the Kurdish culture by bringing members of the Kurdish community together to partake and have a say in various activities supported by the organization. The aim of the Kurdish American Group shall be to form a united affiliation among members of the organization while sustaining a financially conscientious budget. KAG works to enhance the education of the Kurds youth by creating a healthy environment through practice of teaching, advising, dialogue, toleration, and mutual understanding in a civil and democratic manner. KAG tries to involve the Kurdish community in education, community service, and maintain a Kurdish culture that entails respect, unity, and tolerance. KAG will also initiate/participate in a variety of activities which will enhance the sense of identity and bonds among all Kurds.
Our history
In late 2020, a group of Kurdish in the U.S thought there is a need for a real Kurdish independent group to represent Kurdish community in the United States after failure of many other groups in the past decades to be the true voice of Kurdish in America. After the internal conflict back in Kurdistan region of Iraq, the division among the Kurdish was clear and unbearable to the current day, therefore the lack of trust between Kurdish community in United States being in it’s lowest rate ever. That reason was the biggest motivation to have Kurdish American Group formed. KAG has many members across U.S and has many supporters from businesses and individuals. KAG obtained its non-profit status in the state of TN in 2021.
